Dear Living Bread Community,
This year has affected all of us in unprecedented ways. Despite the hardships that we have faced as a result of COVID-19, we have also seen great successes. For example, we have just baptized 11 individuals in Thailand; this is an extraordinary blessing because it is no easy feat to follow Christ there. We are so grateful for the way that the Lord has touched the hearts of our church members. Many of them were kind enough to share their testimonies with us. Boi testified that “her baptism has given her more confidence to walk boldly in her identity in Christ. She says that she is experiencing fullness of joy.” Her sister, Lek, told us, “Now, I’m so hungry for God’s Word and eager to learn more.” God has been truly transformative in their lives, and it is a wonderful experience to witness.
Members of our church in Thailand have also been looking for opportunities to tell others about Jesus. Boi hands out evangelical tracts to patrons at the night market. Even Bam, Boi’s young daughter, has been so touched by Christ that she is eagerly giving these tracts to her friends at school. We are grateful to see their faiths blossom. No matter the circumstances they have encountered, they remain steadfast in God.
During the pandemic, we have had to alter some of the ways in which we serve, but this has not hindered us; it has prompted us to think about service in new ways, as we continue serving our communities in practical ways. We have given haircuts, distributed meals, and held socially distanced services when possible. Though we have had to adapt to a changing world, God has carved out paths of service for us.
In the first half of the year, we faced a deficit in funding due a to loss of donors as a result of the pandemic. Thankfully, the Lord met this need. However, we need to raise an additional $25,000 to meet our year end goal and continue our work through 2021. If you are able and willing, we would truly appreciate your contribution to our ministry. It is because of people like you that we are able to continue giving followers of Jesus a place to worship and to spread the Good News. We ask that you continue to help us provide these communities for individuals who would not have a church to go to otherwise.
Thank you for your continued prayer and support.
