Coming out of the COVID pandemic, we have undertaken several building projects in Brazil. Our approach of meeting basic needs in the communities we serve requires a meeting place. We cannot conduct feeding ministries or the other outreach projects our churches undertake out of a small home. In the initial stages of a church plant, we seek to lease a space in the community, but eventually we want to help the churches secure their own building. This helps to secure their future and moves them toward being able to sustain themselves financially. We recently completed two buildings in northeast Brazil and are finalizing another.
Prior to the pandemic, we were in the process of gaining approval from the city to build a church in Capão da Canoa, a city in southern Brazil. The two years of pandemic lock downs killed that effort for a time, but we are now able to proceed. We already own a lot for the church, which is a great start! We have partnered with a Brazilian ministry that will provide the shell of a building for this church. All that remains is the funding for finishing the building (electrical, plumbing, windows, doors, tile, etc.). The cost for this is $10,000, half of which we have already raised from church partners in Brazil. We are seeking a matching contribution of $5,000 from our American partners to complete this work. Unfortunately, the costs have risen due to inflation since the pandemic, so we would like to complete this project as soon as possible before costs go higher. If you are able to invest in securing the future of the church in Capão da Canoa and equipping them to continue to meet basic needs in the community, please donate today.
